50th Anniversary!

The
Donauschwäbische Vereinigung of Süd-Kalifornia On
April 19, 2008, the Vereinigung celebrated its 50th
Anniversary with a sold out audience of its members and
supporters. The evening was hosted by Ernie Weiss. Our own
Father Hermann-Joseph Rettig was there to give the
invocation. Distinguished members of the community were on
hand to congratulate the Vereinigung for its efforts, among
them, Leo Meyer, Dietmar Bock, Resi Lengsfeld and
representatives of Supervisor Don Knabe. The audience was
entertained by the Dance Group, the Trachtenchor and The
Bluebirds. Poems were presented by Katharina Nysten,Heidi
Schuessler, and Linda & Chris Mayer. The
Vereinigung would like to thank all those that were able to
attend as well as those that have supported their efforts
over the many years. In particular, the Vereinigung would
wish to thank all of its past Board members and Father Lani
for their vision in serving the German - American community
in Southern California. Pictures
