Congratulations Jackie Jochim!

Jackie and Steve met at California State University, Fullerton at a sorority / fraternity New Year's Party in 2001 and have been inseparable ever since. Steve has his own business as a videographer while Jackie will be graduating in June with a degree in accounting.

Now the good stuff!

Steve actually asked Joe, Jackie's father, for her hand the day before as the two of them were driving to the store. "I was shocked," said Joe, " I almost crashed the Mercedes!" Saturday evening, February 26th,  Steve took Jackie to Ti Amo's restaurant in Laguna Beach for a romantic dinner, but he didn't ask her there. He had another plan! Next they went to the Surf & Sand Hotel where Steve had arranged a room overlooking the ocean, lit with candles and decorated with roses. On the table was chilled champagne! He then gave her a Valentine's card and asked her to turn around. When she finished reading it, she turned to find him on his knee holding a ring. He asked if she would marry him and with tears in her eyes, she said "YES!" "I was shocked", said Jackie, ""I thought the evening was just a belated Valentine's date." They went home to tell Jackie's parents. As Joe, Jan and Chris were unloading groceries, Jackie said she had something to tell them but before she could say a word, Jan shouted, "YOUR ENGAGED!" The wedding is tentatively scheduled for May 2006.

The ring is a 1.53421... carat clear flawless diamond solitaire! (I knew you ladies would want to know!)
