III. Open Discussion:
a. Tag der Donauschwaben:
· This year’s tombola was a success. We also had our favorite Lebkuchen hearts for sale. Many thanks to those families who helped in the preparation and sales of these items.
· Another discussion was held in regards to allowing the older kids to perform. Some complained that a couple of younger boys had to sit out during the performance while the older ones danced. It was stated that the fact of the matter was that the Jugendgruppe Leaders asked who would be attending and only two of the Jugendgruppe boys stated that they could. The older boys were asked to come in order to make a decent showing. No one knew that the two additional boys were coming in advance. They hadn’t been participating in many of the performances this year and they haven’t been coming to many of the practices. Since we asked the older ones to come and they made the effort to do so, we felt it was not appropriate for them to have to sit out the entire performance to accommodate the other two.
b. Trachtenfest: Flights and Hotel arrangements have been made thanks to both Chris Mayer and Marie Becker. Everyone that booked their tickets through Chris should have their tickets.
c. Koenigsball 2007: We need to decide upon the artwork for this year’s event.
d. Flag: Josef Becker has been checking with several flag makers in the area. So far, none of them are willing to put in the additional time for the special stitching.
Meeting adjourned at 8:48 p.m.

III. Open Discussion:
a. Koenigsball 2006: There was some discussion regarding the corsages for the girls. Some of the Jugendgruppe parents felt it was a shame that the girls didn’t get corsages this year. They felt bad enough about it that they decided to purchase them themselves. It was decided that next year we will go ahead and purchase the corsages.
b. Koenigsball 2007: The possibility of having next year’s Koenigsball at the Phoenix Club was discussed. The Phoenix Club had one day open that we could use. However, we would have to settle for another band if we did. The Express was not available. Since we all love The Express and the Koenigsball wouldn’t quite be the same without them, it was decided to go ahead and book the Cerritos Sheraton for next year (February 3, 2007) and try for a possible 2008 date for the Phoenix Club.

e. Website – It was agreed to give Karl Seitz an abbreviated version of the meeting minutes to post on the website.
f. Trachtenfest – Marie Becker let everyone know that the Chicago Donau has posted the information regarding the Trachtenfest on their website. It seems like the hotels were already being booked. In order to keep on top of things, Marie requested that we reserve at least 30 hotel rooms for our use. It was decided to go ahead and hold 40 rooms. Marie reserved rooms at the Holiday Inn in Gurnee. It was decided that Tina Wippler would send out a notice regarding the Trachtenfest in her next mailing. It was to indicate that if you are interested in going and would like to reserve a room, please fill out the bottom portion of the page and either mail or email your interest to Marie. This will be done on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline is May 15th.
